You’ll see our trucks around Torrance more than you’d think, and that’s because gates fail in patterns. Salt air off the Pacific eats limit switches in Hollywood Riviera. Wind off the Palos Verdes bluffs works swing arms loose in Southwood. Our crew lives in and around this city, which means we know which neighborhoods get which problems before we even pull up. The people below answer the phone, show up on time, and do the work under The Garrison Standard. Same crew, same promise, every visit.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Lonnie Burke, Owner
Lonnie has run gate repair crews in the South Bay for years, and he still takes the first look at the hard jobs. Ask him about a gate that won’t stay open and he’ll ask about the wind exposure before he asks about the motor. That’s the South Bay in him. Lonnie holds every Torrance job to The Garrison Standard and backs it with the written 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a repair doesn’t hold, the second visit is free, no argument, because he’s the one who signs off on the guarantee. He writes service notes in complete sentences and expects the same from the crew.
Marco R., Lead Technician
Marco has been working on gate motors since the first-generation FAAC swing operators were common, and he can diagnose a failing Viking control board by sound before the cover comes off. He’s the tech we send when a gate has been “fixed” twice by someone else and the homeowner is done guessing. Marco carries torque specs in his head and still double-checks every weld and pivot after a repair. He’s obsessive about clean cable runs, which matters more than people think inside a wet Southern California gate box. Off the clock he restores old motorcycles, slowly, in a Torrance garage.
Dana K., Senior Installer
Dana came up through commercial access control, which means she treats a residential slide gate with the same care as a parking structure entry. She’s been the lead installer on full gate replacements all over the city, from steel driveway gates in West Torrance to tubular aluminum pedestrian gates in Old Torrance. Dana specializes in articulating-arm swing operators and safety edge alignment, and she’ll tell you honestly when a gate post needs excavating rather than shimming. Before she leaves a site, everything is level, test-cycled, and swept. On weekends she coaches youth soccer at Wilson Park.
Nia S., Service Coordinator
Nia is the voice on the phone at 2 a.m. when a slide gate is stuck open and the dog is eyeing the street. She’s been coordinating service calls long enough to know which questions to ask first: Is the motor humming? Is the breaker tripped? Can you move the gate by hand? She dispatches the right tech with the right parts on the truck the first time, because a second trip costs you time and us money. Nia keeps the schedule straight, sends the written price before the tech arrives, and never gives a homeowner a window we can’t hit. She grew up in North Torrance and knows the city block by block.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Carver Gate Repair location works to The Garrison Code, which is simple on paper and hard in practice: show up when you say, write the price before you start, fix it right the first time, and stand behind the work for a full year. In Torrance that means Marco doesn’t leave a job until the gate cycles ten times clean. It means Dana hands you a written breakdown of the installation before she orders a single part. It means Nia never tells you a tech is “on the way” unless the truck has actually moved. The Garrison Standard has been the house rule since 2008, and it travels the same way our techs do. Torrance isn’t a franchise name to us. It’s where the crew works, and it’s the standard we answer to every day.
